孩子的教育恐怕是当今家长最舍得花钱的地方。相比国内大学本科的学费,美国大学学费不是一般的高昂。为了让孩子成为具有全球视野的国际化人才,家长们更是不惜重金将孩子送出国门。那么,美国到底哪些大学性价比相对来说比较高呢?
8月12日,美国《金钱》(Money)杂志发表了最新全美性价比最高的大学排名。与US News发布的排名不同,《金钱》杂志希望给学生和家长展现出不同学校为同类型的学生实现增值的效果对比,从而体现出哪些学校在给学生增值上表现最为突出。
公立大学性价比更高?
从排名结果来看,加州大学尔湾分校被评为全美性价比最高的学校,第二为纽约市立大学巴鲁克学院,第三为普林斯顿大学。
和其他排名不同,公立大学在这一榜单上名次更为抢眼。排名前十位中,公立大学占了7席。
公立大学的“高性价比“无疑与州内学生学费(in-state tuition)相对低廉有关。因为公立大学接受州政府的财政支持,而这些支持来自于本周居民的缴税,所以大学给州内学生设置的学费比较低。而国际学生则需要支付相对高昂的州外学生学费(out-state tuition)。
排名算法介绍
在查看完整排名前,小编还是来介绍一下这个排名的算法指标,这个“性价比”到底是怎么算出来的。
此项排名主要从教育质量、可负担性和成果三部分来衡量一所大学的“性价比”,每各方面所占权重为三分之一。而具体来看,每方面又由以下细分项目组成。
教育质量
6年毕业率 30% 本科学生入学六年内毕业的比例
增值毕业率 30% 学校实际毕业率与预期毕业率之间的差值。
同学水平 10% 由新生入校时的标化考试成绩和入学率(yield rate)体现
教学水平 10% 生师比
财务困境 15% 根据美国教育部公布的各校财政稳定性
佩尔奖学金得主结果 5% 低收入家庭学生的实际毕业率
可负担性
学位净值 30% 包括学费、食宿、书本、交通等所有费用的总和
低收入家庭学生的可负担性 20% 接受联邦资助的家庭每年需自行承担的费用
学生债务 20% 包括学生及学生家庭的借款情况
偿还债务能力 30% 包括学生贷款违约风险指数、联邦学生贷款偿还等等
成果
入学十年后收入 10% 来自美国教育部院校计分卡,2003和2004年入学的大学生在2014-2015年的收入中值
Payscale显示的收入水平 40% 包括职业初期收入、职业中期收入等
工作影响力 5% 工作成就感
入学6年后接受联邦补助的校友比例 12.5%
入学6年后收入不低于25000美元的校友比例 12.5%
社会经济流动性 20%
