雅思词汇真的那么重要吗？

　　雅思考试准备中，总有同学们问雅思备考要多少单词量，要背多少单词够，怎么背单词....其实，雅思单词是一个长期积累贯穿于整个备考的过程，并不是单纯的一本词汇书死磕到底可以解决的。今天新东方网雅思小编就为大家分享雅思老师为我们带来的雅思词汇分析。

　　It is always not unheard of such complaints that “my narrowed vocabulary prevents me from composing excellent English essays”,but seriously? Is it really the case?

　　在上课的过程中，我们经常会听到同学说：其实我英文水平一般，记的单词少，所以我写不出什么东西。怎么办啊?可事实真的是这样么? 来，我们看一个例子。

　　1. You are really so beautiful! 请用英语展开至200字。

　　2. 你真漂亮! 请用个中文展开至200字。

　　恩，看了一下之后，觉得还是别找借口了， 写不写得出东西其实跟词汇并没有太大的关系，其实跟你英语也没啥关系，因为你发现让你用中文写你依然感觉难受。

　　随堂写作时候，no matter in GRE、GMAT or TOEFL classes，学生们可以轻易地看到老师是如何用熟悉的词来构造一个简单，但是逻辑清楚，内容详实的句子。写完一问，所有人都承认，的确这篇文字中没有不认识的单词，全都认识，但是却又承认自己之前没有想过这些单词还可以这么使用。所以，我们来看看，怎么样，才是准确地掌握单词并用于写作呢?

　　It is never a hard task to learn how to speak and write correctly, because for all purposes of ordinary conversation and communication, only about 2,000 different words should be totally sufficient,but the mastery of the 2 000 words is far beyond the general understanding of “I know the word”. 　　Frankly speaking, the easily ignored mystery hidden behind the current communication is that the mastery of just twenty hundred words, quite a small number, you will say, compared with what is in the dictionary, and the knowing of how to combine and where to place them, will not make us masters of the English language or help us become modern Shakespeare but help us grow up into masters of correct speaking and writing, because nobody ever uses all the words in the dictionary and there is no necessity for using them.

　　如果觉得上面这句话很难，嗯，我想想，可是里面有不认识的单词么?也许有，Shakespeare?好吧，人名不算。 所以其实对我们来说，掌握的单词的质量远远比数量重要的多。

　　BUT WAIT! 其实某些人可能还是会带有一点点不屑地说，没有词汇量，怎么显逼格?Of course you may not be content to call things by their common names; you may be ambitious to show superiority over others and display your learning, or rather, your pedantry and lack of learning. For instance, you may be reluctant to call an apple an apple. You go more for mentioning it as the gift from god to inspire such intelligence as Newton and Jobs to change the world.

　　Well, if you insist, then you are showing your “Bigger” .BUT remember, in writing and speaking, it is really suggested to stick to the generally familiar, simple name that your grandfather could easily understand and then begin to use, for it has stood the test of the time, and old friends are always good friends.
