今年的四级翻译选择了三个中国历史文化类主题：家庭观念、姓名和家庭关系，属于大纲给出的历史文化类。

1) 中国的家庭观念与其文化传统有关。2)和睦的大家庭曾非常令人羡慕。3)过去四代同堂并不少见。4)由于这个传统，许多年轻人婚后继续与父母同住。5)今天，这个传统正在改变。6)随着住房条件的改善，越来越多年轻夫妇选择与父母分开住。7)但他们之间的联系依然很密切。8)许多老年人仍然帮着照看孙辈。9)年轻夫妇也抽时间探望父母，特别是在春节和中秋节等重要节日。

1)中国的家庭观念与其文化传统有关。

1) Chinese family values are related to its culture and tradition.

解析：这里的观念大家可能会想到idea 或是 concept, 写这两个问题也不大，但这里侧重的是价值观，用value 更为恰当。文化 culture 以及传统 tradition 这两个词是老朋友了，相信大家没有什么问题。与……有关我们上课才提到 be related to …, be associated with ..., be connected with … 大家是否写出来了呢!!!

2)和睦的大家庭曾非常令人羡慕。

2) Large and harmonious family was once enviable.

这里的“曾”，大家不管是用一般过去还是现在完成都是可以的。和睦的harmonious 不会我们可以换成 happy。 说到“羡慕”，那就是envy 啦，我这里用了它的形容词性 enviable, 不会envy, 那咱们也是可以换词的，比如“向往”look forward to, 所以这句话换个说法就是：人们曾向往和睦的大家庭，即 people once looked forward to big and happy family.

3)过去四代同堂并不少见。

3) It was not uncommon to see four generations live under one roof in the past.

这句话一定要找清主谓宾，四代: four generations我相信大家是没有问题。四代同堂和见之间的关系是被见，我们可以写成 In the past, four generations under one roof cannot be seen very often. 注意使用被动语态结构，也可以添加 “我”、“我们”作为主语，换成是“过去，我们很少看到四世同堂”，即 In the past, we did not often see four generations under one roof.

4)由于这个传统，许多年轻人婚后继续与父母同住。

4) Because of this tradition, many young people continue to live with their parents after marriage.

这一句话典型的原因状语从句，注意“婚后”是时间状语，要放到这句话的最后面。婚后可以写成短语after marriage, 也能替换成after they getting married.

5)今天，这个传统正在改变。

5) Today, this tradition is changing. 本句可直接使用现在进行时。

6)随着住房条件的改善，越来越多年轻夫妇选择与父母分开住。

6) With the improvement of housing condition, more and more young couples choose to live separately from their parents.

这句是我们反复练习的伴随状语从句，不管用with 还是as都是可以的，如果是with,就跟 A 的B 翻译成 the B of A，如果是as 就可以接句子，即住房条件被改善: As housing condition is improved, 后面半句如果你不会“分开”，可以换成“越来越多的年轻夫妇不跟父母住一起”：more and more young couples don’t live with their parents.

7)但他们之间的联系依然很密切。

7) But they still keep close contact. 和… 保持联系： keep contact with sb,如果写成their relationship is still close. 问题也不大。

8)许多老年人仍然帮着照看孙辈。

8) Many old people still help to look after their grandchildren. 孙辈就是指孙子，写成grandson and granddaughter也可以。

9)年轻夫妇也抽时间探望父母，特别是在春节和中秋节等重要节日。

9) Young couples also take time to visit their parents, especially during important festivals such as the Spring Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival. 抽空不会写，换成“有时”sometimes也可以。中国传统节日专有名词要在平时积累。虽然最后一句长一点，但语序正常就可以。

这样我们的翻译就诞生了两个版本：

高分版本：

Chinese family values are related to its culture and tradition. Large and harmonious families were once enviable/admired. It was not uncommon to see four generations live under one roof in the past. Because of this tradition, many young people continue to live with their parents after marriage. Today, this tradition is changing. With the improvement of housing condition, more and more young couples choose to live separately from their parents. But they still keep close contact. Many old people still help to look after their grandchildren. Young couples also take time to visit their parents, especially during important festivals such as the Spring Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival.

普通版：

Chinese family values are related to its culture and tradition. People once looked forward to big and happy families. In the past, we did not often see four generations living together. Because of this tradition, many young people continue to live with their parents after they getting married. Today, this tradition is changing. As house condition is getting better/, we are living in a better house, more and more young couples don’t live with their parents, while their relationship is still close. Many old people still help to look after their grandsons and granddaughters. Young couples sometimes also visit their parents, especially during important festivals such as the Spring Festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival.
